Main Objective

Reducing F-gas emissions into the atmosphere from the refrigeration and air-conditioning sector.

Thanks to the implementation of the project, it will be possible to:

  • process nearly 100% of refrigerant waste recovered from installations and delivered for treatment,
  • replace their thermal disposal with a recovery process and
reintroduce them to the market as fully valuable products,
  • reduce waste management costs thanks to the innovative solution,
  • increase the motivation of entities to transfer used refrigerants for regeneration and separation.

By the end of the project, a reduction of HFC emissions by 74,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year is expected.

Funding

The Refrigerants LIFE Cycle project is co-financed by the European Commission under the LIFE Programme and by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
