Main Goal

The main goal of the LEGAL HFC 4 LIFE project is to develop and implement a model of cooperation and a set of tools between government authorities and other entities to improve monitoring in the area of HFCs and their illegal trade.

Specific Objectives

The project aims to develop an effective model of cooperation between government authorities to counteract smuggling and the illegal trade of HFCs. The project includes, among other activities:

• creating a new website serving as a knowledge compendium for interested parties,
• preparing forms for anonymous reporting of illegal activities,
• raising awareness and knowledge among representatives of the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) industry, government officials, and the public regarding the handling of illegal HFCs and legislative changes,
• organizing training sessions for government officials and the RAC industry,
• conducting discussion panels with the refrigeration sector to develop a joint stance on the issue of refrigerant smuggling.
