About the Service

Reclamation and management of refrigerants help find applications for substances recovered from refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. This allows the reused refrigerant to be used again, and if this is not possible – to be treated as waste in accordance with applicable regulations and with the highest safety standards.

How can refrigerants be managed?

The PROZON Foundation offers three methods of managing recovered refrigerants:

Refrigerant reclamation – instead of disposing of used refrigerant gas, we clean it and restore its original properties.

Refrigerant purchase – we accept all refrigerants from the HFC, HFO groups and their blends.

Refrigerant waste management – since refrigerants from the HCFC and CFC groups are considered waste, we offer their free processing and disposal.

What is refrigerant reclamation?

The process of refrigerant reclamation is based on reprocessing recovered fluorinated greenhouse gases. Its goal is to achieve parameters that correspond to the working properties of the original substance. Because the reclaimed refrigerant regains the same characteristics it had initially, this process allows it to be reused.

How does it work? First, we safely recover the refrigerant from the device into a dedicated cylinder. Next, we conduct advanced purification at our Reclamation Center, removing all contaminants. The prepared refrigerant is then subjected to laboratory testing to confirm that it meets AHRI 700 standards. As a result, you receive a refrigerant of new-product quality, confirmed by a quality certificate.

What are the benefits of refrigerant reclamation?

The reclamation process removes all contaminants and unwanted substances, including oils, non-condensable gases, acids, water, and chlorides that may have entered the refrigerant during previous use. The benefits can be grouped into three main categories:

When to Use the Service?

When is it worth using the refrigerant reclamation and management service? The most common situations include:

Service or repair – when a refrigeration or air-conditioning unit is being serviced and the refrigerant must be recovered for the duration of the repair.
Modernisation or replacement – when dismantling an old refrigeration or air-conditioning system, releasing the refrigerant into the atmosphere is prohibited. Instead, it must be recovered into a cylinder. You can deliver such a substance to us, and we will ensure its safe management.
Equipment disposal – when permanently decommissioning a refrigeration unit or air conditioner, it still contains refrigerant that must be removed.
